Founded in 1870, the city is located in inland central California. It is one and a half hours southeast of Sacramento, two hours southeast of San Francisco and two hours northeast of San Jose. One of it’s most famous businesses is the E & J Gallo Winery, the second largest wine company in the world.

The mild climate provides the opportunity for a wealth of outdoor activities year-round, including: boating, camping, golfing, house-boating, river rafting, water sports, and more. This is also home to a free 13,000 square skate park located at Beyer High School.
