History
The town was founded on February 18, 1850. The area was originally inhabited by Native Americans. The name was adopted from the word tiburón, meaning shark in Spanish. Tiburon was incorporated as a city on June 23, 1964. The North Pacific Railroad arrived in the city in 1882.
