City History
The city was originally inhabited by the Indians of Shoshone origin. The Spaniards arrived in this area during the early 1800s. They started the agricultural development of the area and also began building home sites. The city got its name from the land grant of Rancho De Los Nogales. Nogales is Spanish for Walnut.
