San Diego Corporate Housing

Staying in short term corporate housing in San Diego gives you the freedom to spend your time off in any you wish, just as you would at home. Here are just a few of the things you can see over the holidays.

San Diego Bay Parade Of Lights

You’ve seen peoples’ homes covered in Christmas lights as neighbors strive to outdo one another. Now imagine over 80 boats sailing up the Bay and doing the same. Sponsored by the Port of San Diego, the event takes place over two consecutive Sundays in December. The Parade starts at 5.00 pm at Shelter Island and finishes at Ferry Landing in Coronado about 90 minutes later. There are plenty of places along the route where you can watch.

San Diego Zoo

Jungle Bells offers a nightly tree lighting ceremony, holiday-themed animal experiences and entertainment, a tractor-pulled trolley to ferry guests around the 100 acres of zoo in the evenings to see the lights, and the chance to see over 4,000 animals. Santa will be there too, and the event runs for 3 weeks over the holiday period.

La Jolla Christmas Parade

Over 100 entries with a dozen or more bands, beauty queens in vintage autos, several thousand marching kids (guides, scouts, school marching bands), and more. The Parade starts at Kline Street and Girard Avenue and heads off to the beach. Finishing at La Jolla Recreation Center where there are arts and crafts, educational exhibits, and live music, the event draws some 25,000 people every year.

The Gaslamp Pet Parade

And now for something really silly! Pampered pets all dressed up in their Christmas finery. The Parade starts at MLK Promenade Park at 3.00 pm led by Ozzie and Ferra the Chihuahuas who are the official Grand Marshalls. The route covers 4th Avenue, East Street, and down 5th Avenue finishing at Gaslamp Quarter Archway. Then it heads back to MLK Promenade Park where there is a Pet Expo, live music, and special pet presentations on the ”Cat” Walk. After the festivities finish you can join in the Yappy Meowers (that’s happy hours to you and me) at various hostelries around the Gaslamp Quarter.

Those are just a few of the things that you can see and do if you are staying in short term corporate housing in San Diego over the holidays. Others include the Holiday Bowl, Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade, Balboa Park December Lights, and you can even go ice skating by the sea at Hotel Del Coronado!
