There are several very good fish restaurants such as Old Port Lobster Shack (they don’t only serve lobster), Fish’s Wild, Rustic House Oyster Bar and Grill, and Little Madfish, all of which have very good reviews. As you might guess, there are quite a number of Mexican restaurants, including Quinto Sol, Chipotle Mexican Grill, and Bravo Taqueria. Then, of course, there are Italian and Pizza restaurants, but not so many Chinese and Thai places although there are some.
The city has a slogan “Climate Best By Government Test” which is emblazoned on arches on Broadway at the east and west entrances to downtown. This refers to a US and German government survey before WWI. The area around Redwood City tied for the best climate in the world with the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean coast of North Africa.
